A small Mid-Century modern home in the Brentwood hills had almost no accessible outdoor space due to the limited lot size and surrounding hillside. A new outdoor living and dining deck, hovering above the adjacent foliage, allows the living space to extend out, like the prow of a ship, to the surrounding landscape and spectacular views of the ocean and mountains.

A series of screens complement the horizontal lines of the architecture and enclose the entry courtyard, where generously widen stairs and a small water feature create a more gracious entry experience. A small private viewing garden off of the guest bedroom provides a tranquil moment for reflection.
