[place] created a new landscape integrated with the architectural remodel of the 315,525 square foot office building campus in El Segundo. The three office buildings and parking structure previously surrounded a dark and seldom-used courtyard with a driveway to the parking garage. The new pedestrian-only central courtyard weaves circulation through planting areas, creating shifting paths and integrated seating that engage tenants and visitors. Sweeps of color through drought tolerant planting visually connect the buildings along the 500 feet of street frontage. The courtyard provides a variety of places to sit quietly or to gather with a group of people, either around a fire pit or within the barbecue seating area.
